And I ...Laura,
I'm sorry you're feeling discouraged! And I can definitely relate...I sort of am, too. I'm a really slow reader, and it's kind of hard to see some of these people who are whipping out two or three or four more times pages than I am. But you know what? You really are doing great! You're way past half done with a long book...and you'll finish it before the end, I have no doubt! Just keep up the great work!Debihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15429881953804634592noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2971214839499690631.post-6203093786346971702008-06-28T17:37:00.001-07:002008-06-28T17:37:00.001-07:00Way to go, Laura, you're almost done! I have the second one on my bookshelf that I want to read someday, but I need to read the first one first. However, if it is something worth the extra time, it is always satisfying in the end. It is always possible to read something really short and fast afterwards, or in the middle of the slow book.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2971214839499690631.post-85164955507934628932008-06-28T17:02:00.000-07:002008-06-28T17:02:00.000-07:00go, laura, go! you should feel proud just having ...go, laura, go! you should feel proud just having attempting the read-a-thon! are you enjoying Artemis Fowl? i know my daughters have read it, but i don't remember what they thought of it.alisonwonderlandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08652716231337658058noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2971214839499690631.post-26201258511286327962008-06-28T16:57:00.000-07:002008-06-28T16:57:00.000-07:00Don't feel guilty about savoring a fine book. Taking time with one good book is just as worthy as racing through several easier reads.

as least that is what i'm telling myself today as I struggle thru the pages of the book I'm reading at the rate of 30 or so per hour. I started it last week and intended to have finished it before today so I could try to devour several short novels today.

just remember that reading is what this is all about. or more specifically STORY. Let the story charm you and let everything else just slip away.Joy Reneehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04976987581528470589noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2971214839499690631.post-76455108422729455542008-06-28T16:39:00.000-07:002008-06-28T16:39:00.000-07:00Keep at it, ma'am. Just focus on enjoying yourself, rather than how many pages you read.
